The procedure described below is valid to get student membership. You must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at Universidad de Los Andes to be part of our student branch.

Procedure for non-IEEE members:

Access to ieee.org and click on the Create Account button in the top-right menu.

Fill in your details as requested and proceed by clicking Create Account.

You will receive a message stating that the account has been created. Click on Continue.

Your registration on ieee.org has been created, sign in your created account using the Sign In button in the top-right menu.

Click on your name in the top-right menu.

Click on Professional and Educational Information to introduce your academic information.

Click on Add new university/college.

Fill the information related to your current studies at Universidad de Los Andes.

Click on JOIN IEEE.

Click in Join as a student

Fill your personal information in the section Contact and profile information and click on the Save button.

Add the Industry Applications Society Membership by clicking on Industry Applications.

Click on Add selected item(s).

Verify that the Industry Applications Society Membership was added to your Cart.

Provide additional information and click on Proceed to checkout.

If it is your first year as an IAS member, you could apply for a Free First Year IAS membership using the annual promotion code: IASLRP.

If the promotion code does not work, try buying the IEEE membership first and then adding the IAS membership with the promotion code. Finally, select your preferred payment option and click on Complete Membership Order & Checkout.

Remember to keep your membership number and your card. To conclude, send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with the subject "New member", indicating your full name and membership number.
